Ryan Opera Center at Lyric Opera of Chicago will perform selections from the music of Leoncavallo, Mozart, Massenet, Puccini, Wagner, Mascagni, Bizet and Gershwin. All the proceeds from these concerts go to support and maintain International Friendship Gardens. Standard price tickets are $25, Series tickets are $40. Seating is on a first come, first serve basis. Baritone Nathan Gunn at The Acorn Theater Nathan Gunn has made a reputation as one of the most exciting and in-demand baritones of the day. On September 13 at 8pm Eastern, Mr. Gunn will appear in recital at the Acorn Theater in Three Oaks Michigan. For ticket information go to www.acorntheater.com, or call 269-756-3879.There are two tiers of tickets. Regular seats are $25—but there are few left. V.I.P. tickets are $125, and include hors d’oevres and refreshments before, preferred seating, and a chance to meet the artist at a buffet-reception after the concert. $75 of the ticket price will be a tax-deductible donation to radio station WRHC. This season, he returns to the Metropolitan Opera as Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette, the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia and the London Symphony Orchestra as the title role in a concert version of Billy Budd, conducted by Daniel Harding. He also makes three separate appearances at Carnegie Hall: concert appearances with both the Atlanta Symphony and the Orchestra of St. Luke\'s in Stern Auditorium and his recital debut in Zankel Hall. Highlights last season included Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (both in the original production and in a new children\'s English version that was broadcast live in HD in movie theaters around the world), Figaro at the San Francisco Opera , Guglielmo in Cosí fan tutte at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Billy Budd at the Pittsburgh Opera.

A 2-sided, blue recycle bin with clear recycling instructions is now in place. Recyclers simply drive up to the bin, read the instructions, and deposit their accepted recyclables into the proper portal on either side of the bin. The station is open all year to Berrien County residents. This bin will be taken away each Wednesday for 1 hour to be emptied, with more frequent pick-ups during the busy summer months. The snowmobile trails are open from New Buffalo MI to Galien MI. Here in Harbor Country starting at highway 39 in New Buffalo, you may park your vehicle at the Plaza One Truck Stop or The Pub, and drive your snowmobile from there. Parking is also available at The Featherbone Restaurant in Three Oaks, and between Pro-Stop and Bungalow Inn in Galien. The trails are very well marked. You must cross 39 to get to the trails starting in New Buffalo. There is a trailhead in Three Oaks and in Galien. You may also purchase gas, food, and beverage in New Buffalo, Three Oaks, and Galien. The trail from Galien also extends into Indiana, toward South Bend IN and then south. The trails in this area are also very well marked. In an announcement from Wayne Butler, the Athletic/Recreation Director of New Buffalo Area Schools, the New Buffalo Area Schools have added four regulation tennis courts adjacent to the high school on East Clay Street. All interested tennis enthusiasts are invited to utilize the courts on a first come, first serve basis. There will be some nights and mornings when tennis lessons will be offered to children and adults. These are the only times that are reserved for school use. It is asked that court users wear non-scuffing athletic shoes and place refuse in the recepticles located around the courts. Enjoy this first-class facility.
