The shores of Harbor Country’s New Buffalo harbor area, are the perfect place to try your luck for perch, or troll Lake Michigan for five species of sport fish aboard a charter boat with an experienced captain. There are public fishing sites, modern boat launches and marinas in New Buffalo, to accommodate any angler interest. If river fishing is your passion, the Galien River has public access for both small water- craft, and shore fishing.
Common Fish: Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead Trout, Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Yellow Perch, Walleye, Largemouth Bass and Blue Gill are the primary catches in Lake Michigan and the inland waters.
