Summer

Summer is the best time to walk the beaches and play in the surf. Catch a fiery sunset‚ or relax beneath a star-jeweled sky with only the lapping of waves and a chorus of crickets to disturb the solitude.
Harbor Country’s magnificent natural attributes, along with small-town friendly charm and warm hospitality, promise to make every visit memorable, especially in the Summer!

So much to do, so little time...

While our beaches might be the number one reason to visit the area in the summertime, our great summer events will keep you coming back all season long! June starts us out with the Celebration of Home and Garden Tour, where you get VIP access to some of the most architecturally significant homes and breathtaking gardens in the Midwest! Also in June, Music in the Park sets the tone as the village of Three Oaks comes alive each Saturday evening through Labor Day in historic Dewey Canon Park. Speaking of Three Oaks, it is also home to the worlds largest Flag Day Parade and Celebration, a little piece of "good old fashioned Americana", that you and yours will surely cherish.  July keeps the party going and the New Buffalo beach is the place to be, as we celebrate American independence with a free Fireworks show for the entire family! Later in the month Moonlight Madness takes you on a journey throughout Harbor Country as stores and shops stay open to the wee evening hours with special events, sales and fun!. Next up, the Umbrellas of Harbert. Beginning 4th of July weekend, original, hand-painted 9 ft. market umbrellas designed by various artists are displayed along Red Arrow Hwy. and sold by auction at the annual charity party on the third Saturday in August. Also in August, the mother of Harbor Country events, Ship and Shore Festival takes place in new Buffalo at the beach. Music, food, and fun go on from day to night. After dark, a lighted boat parade and fireworks cap off a perfect day. Finally, the summer events season wraps up Labor Day weekend with the annual Outsiders art Fair at the Judith Racht Art Gallery in Harbert.

Don't worry, the fun doesn't end there, some might say it is just getting started as the Fall events season is right around the corner and packed with fun and activities!. What's your favorite Harbor Country season, keep exploring and let us know!
