Taoism's roots go back to prehistoric times. It started as mysticism, became a philosophy and then became a religion. There were several key figures involved in its development, but Lao Tzu, who wrote the Tao Te Ching is considered its founder. Taoism has had an influence on other eastern religions, especially Buddhism.

Presenter: David Tidwell, Lake Michigan College
