is49-1352738135-69192Thanks to the Friends of Harbor Country Trails and The Pokagon Fund, it’s easy to bike in Harbor Country and not get lost (unless you want to)!

Look for the Harbor Country Trail directional signs posted along routes in New Buffalo, Union Pier, Lakeside, Harbert, Sawyer, and Three Oaks. 

 

Backroads Bike Trails

Backroads Bikeway trails provide 20 self-guided tours on paved area roads, with lengths from 5 to 60 miles. The routes follow secondary roads over rushing streams and through picturesque rolling hills, patchwork farmland and beautiful meadows, parks and forests.

Leisurely riders or those seeking a challenge will love the Backroad Trails. Considered one of the best places to bike ride in the Midwest, Harbor Country!

For long distance bicyclists, the U.S. Bicycle Route 35 is a great adventure! This 500-mile route runs from Indiana through Michigan to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada, generally following the Lake Michigan shoreline and through the eastern Upper Peninsula. Parts of Harbor Country are included on the route.
